49ers-Seahawks: Mike Evans Trolls Trevon Diggs in Viral Confrontation
The exchange drew praise from Richard Sherman and spread quickly as a GIF on social media.
- On Sunday, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans went viral for his response to trash talk from Seattle Seahawks cornerback Trevon Diggs during the 49ers' 32-29 win at Lumen Field.
- Evans terrorized the Seahawks with 113 yards in his best game as a 49er, while Diggs, recently elevated from the practice squad, has bounced between teams since his release by the Dallas Cowboys in 2025.
- After the game, Evans explained, "I honestly didn't know it was him" because identifying players inside helmets proved difficult during trash talk. Teammate Trent Williams of CBS Sports Bay Area praised Evans for playing with a "huge edge."
- The exchange generated numerous GIFs and social media jokes targeting Diggs, while former Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman called it an "all-time" trash-talk moment worthy of praise.
- Diggs signed a $97 million contract extension with the Cowboys in July 2023 but missed 8 games in 2025 following a mysterious accident before Dallas waived him, leading to his recent practice squad elevation.
