Holiday Hell as Lanarkshire Woman Plunges From Balcony Leaving Her with Broken Back
A GoFundMe appeal has raised more than £10,700 to fund specialist air ambulance repatriation after Denby McLaren suffered severe injuries in the fall.
Larkhall resident Denby McLaren remains hospitalized in Greece after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony while celebrating her 30th birthday. She suffered a broken vertebra and multiple foot fractures.
Following the incident, McLaren has spent four days in hospital, an event her family described as "a situation none of us could ever have prepared for." The fall has left her far from loved ones.
The family launched a GoFundMe appeal targeting £12,000 for specialist air ambulance repatriation to South Lanarkshire. Supporters have already donated over 11,000 to help bring McLaren home for ongoing care.
Her family described the financial and emotional strain as 'overwhelming,' stating "No family should ever have to experience something like this." Getting McLaren home safely remains their greatest priority.
Every donation brings the family closer to reuniting McLaren with loved ones, where she can receive specialist care and begin her long road to recovery on home soil.
