Delaware jury awards Qualcomm $2 in damages, finds Arm breached license agreement
The jury also found Arm intentionally sought to disrupt Qualcomm’s business, according to a Qualcomm spokesperson.
On Tuesday, a Delaware jury awarded Qualcomm $2 in nominal damages, finding Arm Holdings breached its Architectural License Agreement and intentionally disrupted Qualcomm's business operations.
The two companies have been embroiled in legal battles since 2022, when Arm sued Qualcomm following the latter's acquisition of Nuvia over licensing transfer disputes.
While the jury found Arm intentionally interfered with Qualcomm's business deal with Meta, it ruled in Arm's favor on four other claims brought by Qualcomm.
Both companies claimed victory following the verdict, though Arm shares fell more than 1 per cent in afternoon trading on Tuesday amid the mixed outcome.
US District Judge Maryellen Noreika must still resolve remaining disputes between the companies, including a potential ruling that could halt Qualcomm's royalty payments for five years—a scenario Arm said involves 'billions of dollars.
What a show. Thanks Pierre :) Not long ago, I went to the site of armchina. The only things that are not written in Chinese is AI and TOPS, but I understood that they have a lot of chips (which we will probably never see here in Europe) and I thought that, too, it may be tense for ARM.
The jury in the filing upheld Qualcomm's complaint against Logo, breach of contract and disruption of business relations with Meta.
