Early Voting Begins Wednesday for TN Elections
Voters will choose governor, U.S. Senate and three constitutional amendments as redrawn congressional districts reshape several races.
On Wednesday, October 14, early voting began for Tennessee's November 3 general election, allowing citizens to cast ballots for governor, the U.S. Senate, Congress, and state legislative races.
Voters will decide major statewide contests, including the gubernatorial race between Republican U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn and Democrat Jerri Green, plus Republican Bill Hagerty's U.S. Senate reelection bid against Democrat Marquita Bradshaw.
Beyond federal offices, citizens will weigh in on three constitutional amendments and municipal ordinances; Shelby County Administrator of Elections Linda Phillips reminds voters to bring a government-issued photo ID to the polls.
The National Pan-Hellenic Council Inc. Memphis Metropolitan is launching 'Rolling To The Polls,' a voter mobility initiative providing transportation assistance to registered voters in Memphis from October 15 through October 24.
These elections determine the officials who establish budgets and tax rates, serving as a primary mechanism for citizens to hold government accountable on infrastructure and public safety decisions.
