Hope Ton Helps West Indies Level T20 Series at 2-2 in India
Hope’s unbeaten 102 and Keemo Paul’s 5-41 powered a 24-run win as West Indies posted 247/3 and forced a series decider.
On Wednesday, West Indies captain Shai Hope scored an unbeaten 102 off 50 balls to power the visitors to a 24-run victory over India at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, leveling the five-match series 2-2.
Put to bat after India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss, West Indies posted 247/3 powered by Hope's century and Sherfane Rutherford's unbeaten 49, capitalizing on India's bowling struggles.
Despite Sanju Samson's quickfire 56 off 20 deliveries, Keemo Paul's five-wicket haul derailed India's chase, limiting the hosts to 223. Paul finished with figures of 5-41.
"I think all the guys, we back our skills," Paul said after the win. The victory keeps West Indies' hopes alive with the series now level at 2-2.
The series decider is scheduled for Saturday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, with both teams competing for the trophy after the 2-2 deadlock.
