Trump set to host Kentucky midterm rally
Trump’s visit is part of a broader push to lift Republican turnout as Kentucky voters choose a new senator and House member.
On Saturday, October 17, President Donald Trump will hold a "Midterm Rally" in Highland Heights, Kentucky, with remarks scheduled for around 2 p.m.
As the midterm elections near, Trump is making a nationwide campaign push, marking his third trip to the region in recent weeks to support GOP candidates in Ohio.
Kentucky voters will decide who replaces retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell, with Republican Andy Barr facing Democrat Charles Booker for the Senate seat and Ed Gallrein and Melissa Strange competing for the 4th Congressional District.
The Cook Political Report considers both the Senate and 4th Congressional District races "solid Republican," and neither is viewed as a top Democratic target.
Trump's visit comes a little more than two weeks before the November 3 midterm elections, while Kentucky voters can begin early voting on October 29.
