Software breakthrough could spur quantum computer advances, Edinburgh study suggests
Researchers have developed an algorithm that enables off-the-shelf computers to run quantum simulations previously only possible using the world’s most powerful supercomputers
Software advance brings complex quantum simulations to standard computers
A major software advance could aid the creation of bigger, more reliable quantum computers, a study suggests. Researchers have developed an algorithm that enables off-the-shelf computers to run quantum simulations previously only possible using the world's most powerful supercomputers.
Quantum Algorithm Simulates Complex Environments With Fewer Qubits
The algorithm simulates open quantum systems coupled to Gaussian environments valid for any configuration and coupling strength, and is applicable to problems with strongly coupled, or non-Markovian, environments, problems with multiple environments out of mutual equilibrium, and problems with time-dependent Hamiltonians.
