The fungus's lineage dates back to the extinction of the dinosaurs, reports the journal Frontiers in Fungal Biology. "This discovery demonstrates how much remains to be learned about the biodiversity of fungi in the forests of East Asia," said Professor Indunil C. Senanayake.
