Suspect dives through closed window to escape deputy during home burglary
Body camera video shows the suspect breaking a closed window and escaping after deputies found him stealing copper inside a vacant home.
- On Oct. 1, The Oklahoma County Sheriff responded to a reported burglary at a vacant home on Sunset Lane, where deputies discovered a man stealing copper inside the residence.
- Bodycam video shows the deputy entering the home with his firearm drawn to confront the suspect, who refused to comply with repeated orders to get on his knees.
- "You will get shot," the deputy told the suspect as he walked into another room before dashing toward the windows and diving through the glass to escape.
- The Oklahoma County Sheriff released the Bodycam footage on social media, where the Office noted the suspect "missed his calling as a Hollywood stuntman" during the escape.
- Authorities in OKLAHOMA CITY are using the released footage to aid their ongoing investigation, with the video serving as primary evidence to identify the suspect.
