Upgrading to the Fitbit Edge? Here's what you'll get – and miss out on
Google has launched the Fitbit Edge, a new fitness tracker featuring a 1.34-inch AMOLED display, built-in GPS, and up to seven days of battery life.
Positioned as the spiritual successor to the Fitbit Charge 6, the 11.5mm thin wearable blends fitness band portability with smartwatch features, addressing the gap between screenless trackers and full smartwatches.
Featuring a hybrid OLED display, the tracker offers 46 per cent more viewing area than the Charge 6, while Google claims the new GPS chipset and built-in altimeter provide route tracking up to 40 per cent more accurate.
Pre-Orders are currently available at the Google Store starting at USD 179.99, with general sales beginning October 27, and Google made the Edge its first repairable fitness tracker with a replaceable battery.
While the Edge includes an AI-powered Health Coach and improved sleep-stage detection, it lacks NFC for contactless payments and dedicated stress-sensing found on the Fitbit Sense 2; every purchase includes three months of Google Health Premium.
