Dmitry Bivol Vs Callum Smith Confirmed For December 12
Bivol will put his WBA, IBF and Ring titles on the line against Smith, who has won 31 of 33 pro bouts, officials said.
- On December 12, Dmitry Bivol will defend his unified world light-heavyweight championship against Callum Smith at the UMMC Arena in Yekaterinburg, Russia, Matchroom Boxing confirmed.
- Smith returns after an eighteen-month layoff, his first fight since defeating Joshua Buatsi in February 2025, while Bivol recovered from back surgery during the extended break.
- Bivol holds 25 wins in 26 fights, while Smith possesses 31 victories in 33 professional bouts, including 22 by knockout; both competitors share nearly identical ages at 175-pound.
- This matchup serves as a detour for fans awaiting resolution to the Bivol and Artur Beterbiev rivalry, postponing the highly anticipated trilogy bout many spectators crave.
- Despite UK government travel warnings against Russia, the bout proceeds in Yekaterinburg, where Smith must counter the champion's sharp, measured offense to secure the title.
